Finally, the weather cleared enough to have John build the planter box so I could plant the vegetables that I’ve had sitting on my porch for a month. If they take, it will be a mini miracle. I ‘ve had to cover them up during the night while on the porch, water them and hope the cats didn’t find them appetizing enough to nibble on. I can tell you this much, after having spent a month battling bronchitis and pneumonia, planting those plants left me exhausted! but it was worth it. A few of the smaller plants wilted a little but after a light rain they all perked up. What I planted was: cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, red cabbage, arugula, peppers, cherry tomatoes and big boy tomatoes. In the next box I will have red onions and herbs.

This weekend should be a good time to finish planting, then all I need to do is clean up the rest of the wheel for next year.
There is a lot of finishing up of things that need to get done, such as painting and completing the porch. but I remain hopeful!
