HERBAL PLEASURES…

HERBAL BLENDS FOR DREAM PILLOWS AND RELAXATION… I thought I would share some of my ideas for making dream pillows and bath items that start with your home grown herbs. I actually have hundreds of recipes for using herbs and essential oils, the interest has only escalated over the years. My herbal fairy is sitting next to some of the items I made some time ago and now come in handy for small gifts. Dream Pillows can be any size, but they are designed to go inside your pillow case. As you crush the herbs while you sleep, you then release the aromatic scent to help you relax and give you sweet dreams.

Another way to relax is in an herbal bath. I made herbal tea bags to use in the tub. I found a natural color cheesecloth which looks much better than the white.

The last pillow pouch is made of felt and folded instead of being sewn.

The book Making Herbal Dream Pillows by Jim Long is a great book that gives you lots of herbal recipes, it takes away the guess work! I enjoyed it.

BRINGING IN THE HERBS…..

Thursday, December 11th, 2008 | Author: admin

Today we are expecting freezing rain and lots of snow. These are the times I sit back and think about spring and the garden. The outdoor herbs I brought in are doing okay, especially the lavender. I repotted the rosemary and separated the plants into three’s. I found two smaller rosemary plants at a craft fair in town, those I put together into one pot and tied them at the top in hopes of forming a tree. They smell so good! I was amazed at the lavender plants, after repotting they really bushed out and smell great. The only problems I am having are with my english thyme. It looked so good in the jug type planter that I didn’t want to repot it. Now it needs a lot of attention to keep going, the top portion has dried out but the hanging portion is doing okay. The pictures are of the three rosemary plants, two lavender plants and the english thyme.
