THANKSGIVING DAY…

Saturday, November 28th, 2009 | Author: carol

What a great day we had, we got to spend Thanksgiving with two of our girls and grand kids. Our other two children spent their day with loved ones as well. Our son is going in for a back operation on Monday, so lots of prayers are needed. This has been a hard year for us but there is plenty to be thankful for, we have two more grand babies on the way and in spite of all the ups and downs we SURVIVED… I have to add that Kim put together a very healthy and delicious meal, and Glenn made an apple crisp that was yummy served with ice cream.  It was a very relaxing and fun day, thanks to the best kids and grand kids in the world!

HAPPY DAY’S AHEAD FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS!

INDIAN SUMMER….

Thursday, November 12th, 2009 | Author: carol

November is my birthday month, and what a month it has been already! I love the weather, I wish it would stay like this all winter long, warm yet brisk in the mornings and no winter coats required.  I’m sure reality of winter will soon become known to us, just as getting older has become evident in my stiff joints. I knew at some point in my life that all the fun i had growing up in Brooklyn would catch up to me.  I have some new health problems to face but I’m sure I will survive, my family and friends have always been close and very supportive in everything I’ve ever done or gone through. Photo’s always tell the best stories, here are some taken at the end of October and early November….

I started knitting again, the library has some great pattern books for children.  Since Gabriella is such a girl, she loves dresses and skirts and does go to dancing school, I thought these leg warmers would be perfect. They are easy and you can have fun with the colors, I hope to make several.

Since flu season is here and my joints have been really stiff lately, I thought making some flax seed and rice heating pads would be a good idea. I made this one for Sam’s boyfriend  who was having some pain in his shoulder. All you do is pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes and it’s heated and stays hot for at least an hour, it’s great.

Sam baked cookies for Halloween, not for trick or treater’s because we never get any living out of town, but for us and John’s family, they were yummy!

AND WHAT HAVE THE ANIMALS BEEN UP TO? They are loving the weather too and of course they always keep themselves amused and well rested most of the time….

This is Max (Sam’s cat) talking, he likes to tell stories. Lucy is always looking for another hiding spot, bags are her favorite. Here is Sidney, most of his head hair has grown back, but we really need to give him credit living with five cats who are all characters and who love to tease him.
