Lent is Wednesday, that means Easter is just around the corner. I can’t tell you how happy the thought of Spring makes me! but I do know I better get sewing. I think the Grand kids would like to get something different this year. The pattern shown here is an oldie and one I have never made before. I think Ella would like this one if I really dress her up, she is such a princess. I plan on making a large hug a bunny for both of them because they both need a lot of hugs!
This photo shows some progress….
as you can see through the window, we still have snow. I had to get more stuffing before sewing the legs and arms, I should have them done by tomorrow. Then I’ll have to plan her outfit which will have to include her favorite colors of red, purple and pink.
Until tomorrow…

This beautiful shell with a heart stamped in it was found just as you see it. I was in Florida visiting my father, not at his home but in a nursing home. He had suffered a seizure from a brain tumor that was found inoperable. I was heartbroken to get the news back in New York. My family and I drove to Florida to see him, I knew it would be our last visit.
The day before we left, we went to the beach. I was walking along the beach looking for shells and thinking about my dad, feeling depressed about leaving and maybe never seeing him again. I stopped, looked around and then looked down, and there it was, this shell with a heart punched through it, I could hardly believe my eyes! I stood in shock, I felt such a calm come over me, I knew then that it was a message to let me know it would be alright some how. My dad passed three months later, but I knew he was in a better place, the heart shell is my reminder. Every time I come across a heart shape object in my path, I smile, pick it up and receive it as a hug and a reminder, “that some how, everything will be alright”.

Today is my son’s birthday, born on the “13th”, he joins his father and grandfather both born on the 13th but different months. It has been a very lucky number for us, even when it lands on a Friday. Another synchronism is that our four children are born covering each of the four elements, Earth, Fire, Water and Air.
On a fun note, our older cat Lucy has ventured out much more than usual, she started by finding a safe place where no one else can see her, so she thinks! Her tail reminds me of the cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland, I bet if we could see Lucy’s face she would be wearing the famous grin…
