EARLY SEPTEMBER HAPPENINGS…

Saturday, September 19th, 2009 | Author: carol

Here is Sidney with his head shaved after having a pretty serious ear operation on the 16th.  It seems he has always had an ear infection since he was a puppy, and our vet felt it had eaten at his inner ear and drum and we could not let him go in constant pain anymore. So, we decided to go with the operation and have them remove everything inside his ear and then close it up. We knew he was not hearing out of that ear very well anyway, his other ear was salvageable and that meant he would still hear out of one ear. I was really pleased with this procedure after seeing how well he recovered, he held his head up and seemed much happier than I have ever seen him before, he gave me so many kisses in the car on the way home!  WE LOVE YOU TOO SID!!!

This is a mama deer that has taken up residence in our back woods with her two babies. The smaller picture was taken outdoors while we sat on our porch, she saw us but didn’t mind us at all, her two babies followed along in the woods. The larger photo was taken through the window, late afternoon, I hope to get a photo of her babies soon.

Bear Mountain has a wonderful view of the Hudson River, although the mountain road is very winding, it does have a rest area you can stop at and enjoy the view.  Here, Hubby and  I took a stretch, it was windy and getting a little chilly so we jumped back in the car and headed to Kim’s.  I am looking forward to apple picking and the fall leaf show that is already starting to happen.

REMEMBERING September 11, 2001

We shall never forget
We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears
In our minds, our memory and our hearts
and take them with us as we carry on.
